American composer Irwin Bazelon was born in Evanston, Ill. on June 4, 1922. Upon completing his music education at DePaul University in 1945 he studied with Paul Hindemith at Yale at Darius Milhaud at Mills College before settling in New York City in 1948 where he began to score films, plays, and television programs.
